The road trip is the least glamorous part of a professional season. Three games in four nights, each in a different city, with practice squeezed into hotel ballrooms and sleep squeezed into aircraft seats.
From the baseline the games blur together — the same drives to the rim, the same collisions in the paint, the same referees' whistles — until you look at the results and realise the team went two and one.
