The 35 mm focal length suits the way most people see. This version adds a half-life-size macro mode and image stabilisation, which together make it a genuine one-lens travel kit.
Sharpness is very good, focus is quiet, and the close-focus distance means the lens hood is often touching the subject. The aperture ring is absent, which some will miss.
